Asmita, a Bengaluru woman, has become an internet sensation for taking a bold step in pursuing her passion. Once earning ₹1.5 lakh per month as an HR professional at a leading tech company in Bengaluru, she quit her corporate job in 2023 to follow her dream of becoming a professional baker.

Asmita’s decision gained widespread attention when her husband, Sagar, shared a picture of her mango vanilla cupcakes on X (formerly Twitter), expressing his pride in her career change. “My wife left a 1.5 L pm job to make these. Thank God she did,” he wrote, sharing a photo of the cupcakes she made for a child’s birthday party. The post quickly went viral, garnering over 2 lakh views in just a few days.

“I’m sure it will lead to great success one day,” commented one follower, while another added, “Even a 30 LPA job can’t provide complete fulfillment… it should be what your heart truly wants.” Many were inspired by Asmita’s courage to follow her dreams.

Asmita, who began baking as a hobby in 2020, took the leap after completing her certification from Lavonne in August 2023. She now sells her creations through her Instagram page. Her advice for anyone thinking of switching careers: “Have 12 months of expenses saved, validate your idea before quitting, and believe in yourself.”
