On 29 June, Aarvee Associates Architects Engineers & Consultants Pvt. Ltd won a Rs. 1.25 crore contract from Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) to create a Feasibility Study Report for extending the Bangalore Metro’s Green Line from Madavara (BIEC) to Tumkur (Tumakuru).

This extension will add approximately 52.41 km to the existing Green Line, which currently spans 33.53 km from Anjanapura to Madavara. The new line, likely elevated, will run along Tumkur Road (NH-4) and will be developed using a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

Aarvee Associates will evaluate the most suitable transit mode (MRTS, RRTS, MetroNeo) and decide whether the line should be elevated or underground. The study will assess the alignment, estimate ridership, identify optimal station and depot locations, and estimate construction costs. The report is expected to be completed within six months.

The 19 planned stations along this route include:

  • Tumakuru Bus Stand
  • Tumakuru University
  • Tumakuru
  • Kyathasandra
  • Pandithanahalli
  • Hirehalli
