India’s flagship airline, Air India, is in the spotlight again—this time for all the wrong reasons. After Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and BJP leader Jaiveer Shergill voiced their frustrations, YouTuber Pratik Rai, known for his tech channel TechWiser, has also slammed the airline for mishandling his luggage.
Rai shared his month-long ordeal on X, revealing how Air India lost his checked-in baggage on a flight from Delhi to Bengaluru. Initially, the airline’s app showed the bag was in Bengaluru, but despite multiple follow-ups, he never received it. After raising the issue online, he was assured of a “priority resolution”—only to discover a week later that his bag never left Delhi due to a tagging error.
Things worsened when he visited Delhi Airport’s Lost & Found section, only to find it closed due to elections. When he returned, the bag presented to him belonged to someone else. After several frustrating calls and wasted days, Rai lost hope of ever recovering his belongings.
He also criticized Air India’s compensation policy, which reimburses passengers based on weight rather than the actual value of lost items, leaving him with a payout of just ₹3,000–4,000—less than the cost of his suitcase itself.
With Air India now ranking first on LuggageLosers.com, frustration among passengers is mounting.
