A Bengaluru autorickshaw operator‘s flashy birthday celebration took a serious turn after a video of him slicing a bullet-shaped cake using a machete went viral, prompting swift police intervention. The incident occurred on May 31 in Gudibande, located on the city’s outskirts. The man, Anil Kumar from Vychukurahalli, hosted the event with his family, friends, and coworkers, as reported by The Times of India.

Unusual Cake, Unexpected Consequences

What started as a regular birthday party turned bizarre during the cake-cutting moment. Instead of using a conventional knife, Anil dramatically drew a large blade and cut into a cake crafted to resemble a bullet cartridge, receiving enthusiastic cheers. The party continued with alcoholic drinks, and Anil later took the machete back home.

Police Take Action

The viral footage reached the Gudibande police, who quickly filed a case. “Upon viewing the clip, we charged Anil under Section 126 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS),” stated SP Kushal Choukesy. Anil, who has no past record, was detained and later fined ₹1,000 by a local court.

Ongoing Measures

Authorities have now ordered Anil to appear before the tahsildar and sign a peace bond, promising to avoid any future public disturbances. Officials stated that in cases of potential disorder, magistrates can demand such bonds for up to one year.
