In preparation for Aero India 2025, set to take place from February 10 to February 14, the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has implemented several restrictions near the Yelahanka Air Force Station to ensure safety and smooth operations.
According to the notification, all meat and fish stalls, as well as non-vegetarian restaurants, within a 13-km radius of the airbase must remain closed from January 23 to February 17, 2025. During this period, the sale and consumption of non-vegetarian food have been strictly prohibited. This decision aims to prevent the attraction of scavenger birds, which could pose a risk to aircraft during critical operations such as take-offs, landings, and aerial displays.
In addition to these measures, construction activities have been impacted. Builders within a 10-km radius of the airbase have been instructed to lower the height of cranes and halt their operations from February 1 to February 14. These precautions are designed to avoid any interference with flight paths, ensuring the safety of both aircraft and spectators.
BBMP officials clarified that these restrictions are part of the standard protocols for air shows, ensuring a secure and efficient environment for Aero India 2025.
