Bengaluru: Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) is set to tantalise the taste buds of travellers, with two of the city’s most celebrated dosa joints—Central Tiffin Room (CTR) and Rameshwaram Cafe—opening their doors soon. This new addition has sparked excitement among food lovers, eager to see which eatery will become the top choice for passengers.

According to Bangalore International Airport Limited (BIAL), Rameshwaram Cafe will operate in Terminal 1, while CTR will be located at Terminal 2 in the arrivals section. The move aligns with BIAL’s commitment to promoting Bengaluru’s culinary treasures. A BIAL spokesperson stated, “It’s our mission to showcase the best of Bengaluru.”

Both eateries have made a name for themselves with their mouthwatering offerings, attracting large crowds in the city. CTR’s iconic butter masala dosa and Rameshwaram Cafe’s ghee-rich dishes are renowned for their flavourful delights.

Enhancing the Culinary Scene at KIA

The addition of these two establishments further strengthens KIA’s South Indian food scene. The airport already hosts popular eateries such as Hatti Kaapi in Terminal 2 lounge, Ooru Canteen in Terminal 1 departures, and Maiyas in Terminal 2 departures. With CTR and Rameshwaram joining the ranks, passengers can look forward to more delectable options before or after their flights.

CTR, founded in 1920 as Sri Sagar Hotel in Malleswaram, has long been a favourite for its benne masala dosa. In contrast, Rameshwaram Cafe, launched in 2021, has quickly gained popularity with its generous use of ghee and its comforting South Indian dishes.
