A Bengaluru auto driver allegedly harassed and threatened a 20-year-old college student for refusing to pay an additional ₹200 for his ride. The incident, which was captured on video, shows the driver demanding ₹580 for a fare that was originally ₹380. The college student, who shared the video on X (formerly Twitter) under the handle Fakeer, claimed the driver also used racial slurs and threatened to physically harm him if he ever saw him again.
In the video, the student can be heard questioning the driver about the extra charge, to which the driver insists on the inflated amount. The altercation escalates when the driver reportedly calls his friends to intimidate the student and his companion, demanding they pay the full ₹580. The student claimed he had to pay ₹500 (₹400 in cash and ₹100 via UPI) to avoid further confrontation.
The student also alleged that the driver used derogatory language, calling them slurs while insisting on the extra payment. The incident reportedly occurred late at night outside the student’s PG, with his friends stepping in to support him during the heated exchange.
