In a heartwarming display of integrity, a Bengaluru auto driver named Girish went out of his way to locate a passenger’s home to return her gold chain, which had gone missing during a recent ride. Chitra, the passenger from Mysuru, took to social media to thank Girish and shared a video praising his efforts.

In the viral video, Chitra expressed her gratitude, saying, “Meet Girish, the auto driver who searched for me to return my lost chain. I came to Bengaluru from Mysuru yesterday and missed my gold chain. I was surprised when Girish knocked on my door with it. I cannot thank him enough, as there are fewer auto drivers like him.” Chitra, who heads the Taliru Foundation—a training centre for women in auto-rickshaw driving—shared her appreciation, noting the rarity of Girish’s kindness and dedication.

Autorickshaw aggregator Nagara Metered Auto acknowledged the story, highlighting that its system allows passengers to be easily identified after rides, making it easier to return lost items. In a social media post, the company wrote, “Street-hailed Nagara Meter Auto trips take customer phone numbers for trip assurance, helping drivers trace and resolve events like forgotten or lost items of customers.”

The post also noted, “Chitra leads Taliru Foundation, which trains women in auto-rickshaw driving! Perhaps her good karma ensured she got her chain back, thanks to Girish.” Other users joined in commending Girish’s honesty, with one commenting, “Because of a few good people like him, there is still hope. May God bless Girish and his family.” Another user added, “May God bless Girish for keeping his honesty at work.”

The gesture has touched many, drawing widespread appreciation for Girish’s integrity and community spirit.
