In Bengaluru, an email bomb threat sent to multinational company Broadcom has been confirmed as a hoax. The threat was received by the company around 1 pm, prompting an immediate response from local authorities.

Senior police officers reported that a team of investigators was quickly dispatched to the scene to assess the situation. Despite the alarming nature of the threat, it was determined that there was no actual danger. Authorities suspect that Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) might have been used to conceal the sender’s identity. An FIR has been registered as part of the ongoing investigation.

This recent incident follows a pattern of similar hoax threats in Bengaluru. In March, both Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar received bomb threat emails, which were later confirmed to be false. Additionally, hoax threats have also been directed at various hospitals, hotels, and prominent schools in the city.

The police continue to investigate the origins of these threats and are taking measures to prevent future incidents. The use of VPNs in these cases highlights the need for enhanced cyber vigilance and security protocols to address such threats effectively.
