A viral video posted by a Bengaluru resident on platform X has reignited debate over the city’s worsening infrastructure, particularly in key IT zones. The footage showcases pedestrians struggling along a dusty, uneven stretch near EcoSpace on Outer Ring Road (ORR), a major IT hub. Ongoing metro construction by Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) has only worsened the ordeal.

Initially designed to decongest traffic and link major highways, the 60-km ORR has ironically become a nightmare for commuters, with peak-hour gridlocks worsened by unfinished projects.

Tagging Karnataka’s IT Minister Priyank Kharge, the resident accused the government of negligence, sarcastically questioning if the plan was to drive IT firms out of Bengaluru. The post, gaining over 2 lakh views in a day, sparked an outpouring of reactions—ranging from outrage to dark humor.

Many slammed the government, criticizing Deputy CM DK Shivakumar’s inaction and mocking Minister Kharge for engaging in online battles instead of addressing real issues. Others lamented the worsening situation, pointing out pothole-ridden roads and difficult working conditions for IT employees.

While some compared the state of Bengaluru’s roads to underdeveloped regions, others urged patience, arguing that infrastructure projects take time.

This isn’t the first instance of Bengaluru’s crumbling roads going viral, highlighting persistent civic woes despite being India’s tech capital.
