Bengaluru: The state government has decided to construct the city’s largest tower, ‘Skydeck’, on 25 acres of land in Hemmigepura following a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The 250-meter-high Skydeck aims to become a tourist destination, and officials have clarified that it will not be built as part of the proposed second international airport in the south and southwest direction of Bangalore.

After considering three potential sites, including Hemmigepura, the government has finalized this location, which is close to the Turahalli forest area, Sompur, and Talaghattapura metro station. The decision comes after rejecting alternative sites, including Jnanabharati Precinct and Kommaghatta area, due to concerns about disturbing birdlife and educational institutions. A detailed discussion in the Cabinet will follow to finalize the allocation of the area for Skydeck construction.
