A Reddit post from a frustrated Bengaluru resident has reignited concerns over the city’s deteriorating infrastructure. Shared on r/bangalore, the post titled “Blr Infra is collapsing” paints a grim picture of worsening traffic and road conditions, even during hours when roads are usually empty.
The commuter, who has lived in Bengaluru for a decade, recounted that traveling from Indiranagar to Manyata Tech Park—barely six kilometers—took almost two hours. Shockingly, the trip occurred at 3:30 AM, far from peak commute times. “I’ve stayed here for ten years, and this is the worst state I’ve ever witnessed,” the user wrote, describing the ordeal.
Adding to the chaos, the post reported a beam collapse near Elements Mall around 5:40 AM, causing severe obstructions. Shattered glass littered the road, suggesting a vehicle may have been struck, although no official report had emerged at the time.
Earlier, another Reddit user sarcastically remarked they could have reached Chennai faster, after spending three hours covering just 16 kilometers within the city.
The viral post urged citizens to hold local authorities and the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) accountable for chronic mismanagement. “If anyone has the power to make these politicians answerable, please do it now,” the commuter appealed.
With nearly 900 upvotes and over a hundred comments, many agreed that Bengaluru’s infrastructure had already collapsed. One comment summed up the frustration: “Wait, hasn’t it collapsed already? Finish. Tata bye bye.”
