A constable from the Byatarayanapura police station, identified as Kiran, has been suspended for allegedly harassing a 21-year-old woman during passport verification.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) S Girish issued the suspension order on Saturday after a preliminary inquiry into the allegations. Sources revealed that the constable repeatedly visited the woman’s home over the past week under the pretense of verifying her passport application. During these visits, he allegedly misbehaved and harassed her.
The woman lodged a formal complaint, prompting an immediate investigation that led to the constable’s suspension. This incident underscores the importance of accountability and professional conduct within law enforcement.
