The Bengaluru Police’s Central Crime Branch (CCB) recently uncovered a scheme involving fake health cards used to illegally access government medical benefits. The CCB’s Organized Crime Wing (OCW) filed charges against Sridhara, Ramesh, Shivaganga, Shwetha, Shashikala, and others, all Bengaluru residents, for allegedly registering false companies and creating counterfeit documents to obtain Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) cards.

The suspects reportedly charged clients between ₹10,000 and ₹2 lakh for the cards, along with a monthly ₹500 fee as a supposed “government payment.” Shashikala, an auditor, allegedly distributed these cards from her Yeshwantpur office for two years. The CCB initiated the case on November 8 and is actively pursuing further arrests.
