Shobha Karandlaje, Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), inaugurated the South Zonal Level Exhibition at Freedom Park’s People’s Plaza in Bengaluru on Saturday.
The 10-day event, organized by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), celebrates the rich diversity of local craftsmanship, small enterprises, and traditional industries across the southern region. The exhibition aims to promote Khadi, handmade goods, and innovations by MSMEs while providing a platform for artisans and entrepreneurs to connect with a broader audience.
Attendees can explore a wide range of products, from eco-friendly handicrafts and organic goods to sustainable fashion and home décor. The initiative also emphasizes the importance of supporting small businesses in driving economic growth and preserving cultural heritage.
This event is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to encourage local production and self-reliance, echoing the spirit of the “Vocal for Local” campaign.
The exhibition, which will run until January 15, has been lauded for bringing together rural and urban stakeholders, fostering innovation, and showcasing the potential of micro and small enterprises in building a sustainable future.
