Bengaluru is set to debut LED kerb stones at major junctions, including Hudson Circle, Legislators’ Home Junction near Vidhana Soudha, and Mount Carmel College Junction, aimed at boosting road safety and aesthetics in preparation for the upcoming Global Investors Meet and Aero India 2025.

BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Giri Nath conducted a review on Friday to oversee the final preparations for these high-profile events, directing officials to expedite various road safety and beautification measures. These include thermoplastic lane markings, hazard signage, elevated medians, iron grills, and pedestrian crossing markings.

During his inspection, the Chief Commissioner visited several locations across the city, including Hudson Circle, Mount Carmel College Junction, Guttahalli Bus Stop, and others, to assess ongoing works. At Hudson Circle, he specifically focused on the installation of LED kerb stones, landscaping, fountains, and lighting, urging officials to complete the tasks quickly. He also called for the removal of unauthorized optical fiber cables.

At other key junctions, such as Raj Bhavan and Kalpana Junction, he reviewed zero-tolerance zones, ghost island markings, and pedestrian safety measures. Additionally, he emphasized the urgent need to replace a sunken slab at Mount Carmel College Junction and ensure timely completion of roadwork at Guttahalli Bus Stand.

The BBMP’s efforts aim to improve the overall cityscape and ensure smooth operations for the upcoming global events, with a particular focus on safety, cleanliness, and efficient transportation.
