A Bengaluru-based IT professional, Saurabh Patel, recently shared his distressing experience on social media, claiming he was fired within three months of joining a prominent American company. Patel accused his former manager of “micromanagement” and subjecting him to “unwarranted psychological pressure” during his onboarding process. His LinkedIn post detailing the experience has since gone viral.
Patel joined the US-based workforce management firm in September this year, bringing prior experience from Amazon and Revolut. Although he lacked direct SaaS experience, he was transparent about it during his interview, expressing a strong willingness to learn, adapt, and contribute. He was reassured that the company’s culture was built on mentorship and growth—values he felt were ultimately unfulfilled.
Describing the challenges he faced, Patel said, “Even cases assigned a minute before my shift ended had to be completed, often requiring me to work 2+ hours beyond my shift.” He also highlighted the lack of support from his manager, who provided minimal assistance during his transition. According to Patel, he was expected to perform at the same level as experienced employees despite not receiving adequate training or guidance. He further claimed that his manager’s micromanagement of minor issues delayed his work and added unnecessary stress.
Patel was assigned 35-40 cases weekly, which he felt was excessive for someone new to the SaaS domain. His post received widespread support on LinkedIn, with many users expressing solidarity and frustration with the company’s practices.
