Bengaluru: In response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack and the Indian Army’s Operation Sindoor, both central and state governments have ramped up security nationwide. Bengaluru Police have issued fresh directives, urging heightened vigilance—especially at crowded public spaces like malls.

As part of these intensified measures, 41 shopping malls across the city are now under strict surveillance. Entry protocols have been tightened, with thorough checks of all visitors. Items like knives and sharp objects are strictly banned, in a bid to eliminate potential security risks.

To bolster safety, mall authorities have been instructed to install more CCTV cameras, both indoors and at all entry-exit points. They’ve also been directed to increase the number of on-ground security staff. In the event of any suspicious behavior or emergency, immediate contact with the police control room has been mandated.

Mall managements have received official guidelines to implement additional safety practices and work closely with law enforcement. The public has largely welcomed these precautions, appreciating the authorities’ proactive stance to ensure public safety.

This alert is not just a response to recent threats, but also a preventive strategy designed to reassure citizens and deter malicious activities. The focus remains on maintaining peace in one of India’s most dynamic cities.
