Bengaluru police are searching for an assailant who reportedly attacked a 23-year-old executive from a private company after a trivial dispute at a restaurant in Ashoknagar. The incident occurred on the night of January 11, when Kiran (name changed), a resident of Cox Town, visited the restaurant with two friends.
After dining, Kiran went to the washroom, where an unknown man repeatedly asked if he was gay. Kiran chose not to respond, but the man persisted, asking again as Kiran was leaving. When Kiran still didn’t answer, the man struck him on the head.
Kiran’s friend immediately contacted the police helpline, but by the time law enforcement arrived, the attacker had already fled. The Cubbon Park police have registered an FIR under sections 126(2) (wrongful restraint) and 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) of the BNS. Authorities are actively investigating the case and seeking the suspect.
