In a shocking incident in Bengaluru, Karnataka, a woman was molested by an unknown assailant during her morning walk in the Krishna Nagar area of Konanakunte. The attack occurred around 5 a.m. on August 2. CCTV footage shows the attacker, dressed in a white shirt and pants, approaching the victim from behind, groping her, and then fleeing the scene.
The victim, a resident of Rajasthan, was on her regular morning walk and waiting for a friend when the assault happened. Her husband promptly reported the incident to the police.
Bengaluru authorities have filed a case against the suspect under Sections 76, 78, and 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). A manhunt is underway to locate the attacker.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) South Lokesh Jagalasar has assured that the situation is being treated with utmost seriousness. He emphasized that the safety and security of women is a top priority. “We are committed to tracing the accused and taking appropriate legal action. We are also increasing police patrolling in areas identified as needing extra vigilance,” he said.
The assault has sparked widespread outrage, with many citizens expressing their anger on social media. Criticism has been directed at the Congress-led state government for allegedly failing to prioritize women’s safety. Social media users are demanding stricter law enforcement and improved safety measures.
