Bengaluru: Bengaluru’s notorious traffic congestion has once again come under the spotlight after a viral social media video showed that travelling just 4.5 kilometres in the city could take nearly 47 minutes during peak hours.
The video, shared on Instagram by Aaditya Saxena, has struck a chord with thousands of commuters who say the experience reflects their daily struggle on Bengaluru’s busy roads.
Video captures frustrating commute
The clip begins with the infotainment screen inside Saxena’s car displaying a navigation map estimating a 47-minute journey for a distance of just 4.5 km. The camera then pans to the road ahead, revealing a long queue of vehicles crawling through bumper-to-bumper traffic.
In the caption accompanying the video, Saxena said the navigation app had estimated a 45-minute journey an hour earlier. Despite waiting and moving through traffic for an hour, the estimated arrival time reportedly remained almost unchanged, highlighting the severity of the congestion.
