A Bengaluru resident has raised concerns about a large, hazardous hole on a sidewalk near a school in Whitefield, warning that it endangers over 3,000 students who use the path daily.

The individual took to X (formerly Twitter) to highlight the long-ignored issue, sharing images of the gaping hole. Despite the evident danger to pedestrians, neither the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) nor the school administration has addressed the problem.

In response to the viral post, the BBMP’s Integrated Command and Control Centre registered a formal complaint. The images depict a deep, uncovered hole, posing a serious risk to walkers, particularly children.

Frustrated residents and social media users criticized the civic body’s negligence. Some suggested that BBMP officials should personally inspect Bengaluru’s streets to witness the widespread infrastructure issues firsthand. One user sarcastically commented that if officials walked just two kilometers, they would see the city’s crumbling state.

With growing public outrage, citizens are urging authorities to act swiftly to prevent potential accidents.
