In a focused week-long enforcement drive, the Bengaluru Traffic Police (BTP) imposed fines amounting to ₹1,15,000 on 102 motorists caught overspeeding. The operation, held from May 26 to June 1, aimed to curb speeding and drunk driving across the city.

As part of the campaign, authorities inspected a total of 50,581 vehicles. Shockingly, 683 drivers were found to be operating their vehicles under the influence of alcohol, raising serious concerns about road safety in the city.

The initiative was part of a broader effort to enhance compliance with traffic laws, especially in accident-prone areas. Officials emphasized that strict action will continue against violators in the coming weeks.
