Bengaluru: With Ganesh Chaturthi and Eid Milad approaching, Bengaluru Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh convened a peace committee meeting on Thursday to review civic arrangements and security measures for the upcoming festivals.
Preparations along procession routes
The Commissioner directed police and civic officials to expedite pending works, including road repairs, tree trimming, and street lighting along major procession routes. Sensitive areas have been identified, and officers have been instructed to conduct spot visits to gather intelligence and strengthen on-ground security.
Singh personally inspected Tannery Road, a key route for the Eid Milad procession, and urged authorities to complete all pending civil works promptly to ensure smooth celebrations.

To maintain peace during the festivities, the police are holding peace meetings at every police station and engaging with local community leaders. Festival organisers have been instructed to:
- Obtain permissions for banners and DJs
- Install CCTV cameras at procession points
- Avoid provocative slogans or statements
