Bengaluru has secured a spot in the top 10 global tech talent hubs, alongside Beijing and Tokyo, highlighting Asia Pacific’s growing influence in technology.

According to Colliers’ Global Tech Markets: Top Talent Locations 2025 report, over 200 global markets were assessed on talent acquisition, VC funding, labour index, talent pipeline, and sector composition.

India and China continue to dominate the global tech talent landscape. In India, six cities feature in the APAC top 10 for tech talent acquisition, underlining the country’s deep talent ecosystem and cost advantages.

During the first half of 2025, technology occupiers leased more than 10 million sq ft of office space across India’s top seven cities—accounting for 40% of conventional leasing. Bengaluru and Hyderabad led the way, driving nearly half of all tech office demand.

“India is a powerhouse of tech talent and a key player in the global innovation ecosystem,” said Arpit Mehrotra, Managing Director, Office Services, Colliers India. He noted that India’s leading tech cities hold 69% of the total tech talent in Asia Pacific, with Bengaluru and Hyderabad at the forefront.

Globally, demand for professionals skilled in AI, data science, and cybersecurity has surged, making Bengaluru especially attractive to companies seeking next-generation talent. The technology workforce is also getting younger—workers under 25 grew by 9% between 2014 and 2022, more than 20 times the all-industry average.

This shift is drawing investment to cities with vibrant, youthful talent pools such as Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Jakarta, reinforcing India’s prominence as a hub for tech-driven economic growth.
