Bengaluru police have launched an extensive search for a four-member gang that brutally assassinated a 42-year-old rowdy-sheeter inside a bar in Soladevanahalli on Tuesday night.
The deceased, identified as Jayaram K, hailed from Chikkabommasandra in Yelahanka New Town. He had been on law enforcement’s radar since 2016, with a history of criminal activities registered at the Yelahanka New Town police station.
Authorities suspect that the murder stemmed from a longstanding enmity. While the perpetrators had no prior criminal background, investigators have successfully identified them. Preliminary findings indicate that the attack was orchestrated by the brother of a man whom Jayaram allegedly murdered in 2016.
Sources revealed that the suspected mastermind, currently incarcerated in Central Prison, had earlier been involved in a sextortion case. Police believe he meticulously planned the revenge killing while serving his sentence.
With a targeted operation underway, law enforcement is intensifying efforts to track down the assailants. Further investigations are in progress to unravel more details behind the violent act.
