Lokayukta officials apprehended a special tahsildar in Bengaluru’s Yelahanka for accepting a ₹2 lakh bribe on Monday.
The accused, Munishami Reddy, along with his associates Nagaraju and Sandeep, was caught in a sting operation after an advocate, Mahesh, filed a complaint. Mahesh had approached Reddy to add a name to a pahani (land record document). Reddy allegedly demanded ₹10 lakh, receiving ₹3 lakh in advance before being caught red-handed while taking ₹2 lakh.
The trio has been booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act. Authorities have urged citizens to report bribery cases to help curb corruption.
