Bengaluru, often hailed as Silicon City, is set to expand its technological footprint with the addition of 89 new IT Tech Parks across 54 industries. These cutting-edge facilities are slated for completion within the next two to three years and will be located in the North Zone, Mahadevapura, and Bommanahalli areas. The expansion solidifies Bengaluru’s position as India’s top software exporter and semiconductor hub.

Among the key locations, over 10 IT companies are planned for Yeshwanthpur in the North Zone and Whitefield. Additional new IT companies will start in Bellandur (5), Tumkur Road (2), Koramangala (1), and Kundalahalli (3). This development is expected to significantly boost employment opportunities in the city.

The Bengaluru Metropolitan Region Development Authority (BMRDA) is also reviving a long-standing proposal to develop self-sufficient towns in the IT suburbs of Bidadi, Solur near Magadi, and Nandagudi in Hosakote. Preparatory work includes assessing the feasibility of connecting these areas with the Metro. The first phase will focus on Bidadi, which will feature commercial buildings such as logistics parks and data centers, alongside residential units.

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar is leading the initiative, with plans for infrastructure upgrades, including separate potable water supplies for these suburbs.
