Bengaluru: The city’s Traffic Police on Friday announced restrictions and diversions for the Eid-e-Milad-Un Nabi 2025 celebrations, scheduled from 10 am to 10 pm. A grand procession with tableaux and musical performances will begin from Nagawara Main Road and pass through Tannery Main Road, Haines Road and Miller’s Road before culminating at Shivajinagar Kombalposh Dargah.

Traffic restrictions in place

According to the advisory, traffic movement will be restricted on several key stretches, including:

  • Nagawara Junction to Pottery Circle Road on Tannery Road
  • Netaji Junction to Tannery Road via Pottery Circle
  • Netaji Junction to Haines Junction via Haines Road

Parking restrictions have also been enforced on stretches from Nagawara Junction to Pottery Circle, Govindapura Junction to Govindapura Police Station, and from HBR Layout Siddappa Reddy Junction to Narendra Tent Junction.

Roads to avoid

Commuters have been advised to avoid the following roads during the day-long celebrations:

  • Bellary Road
  • SJP Road
  • KG Road
  • Palace Road
  • CV Raman Road
  • Balekundri Road
  • Jaya Mahal Road
  • Old Udaya TV Junction
  • Market Circle
  • Cunningham Road
  • Jayaraman Road

Alternative routes announced

To ease congestion, alternative routes have been suggested:

  • Cars from Market Circle, KR Road and Minerva Circle towards Majestic will be diverted via TSP Road, Chamarajpet 5th Cross and Good Shed Road.
  • Vehicles from BGS flyover to Majestic via Town Hall can use Binny Mill Road, Good Shed Road or BVK Iyengar Road.
  • Commuters from MD Store towards Majestic should take Police Road, BVK Iyengar and KG Road.
  • Trucks and heavy vehicles from Kalasipalya bus stand towards Hosur Road should divert via KR Road, Lalbagh West Gate, Ashoka Pillar and Siddapur Road.

Police advisory to citizens

In a post on X, Bengaluru Traffic Police requested citizens to cooperate with diversions. “Procession routes will be closed for vehicular traffic. Alternative routes have been provided — commuters are requested to follow diversions and plan travel accordingly,” the statement read.
