Despite the rain, over 150 people participated in the “Military City” themed walk organized as part of Bengaluru Walks’ Walkfest. The 9.5 km journey covered significant areas like Old Airport Road, Domlur, and Ulsoor, immersing participants in the city’s military history. Curated by Arun Pai, founder of Bengaluru Walks, this initiative aims to promote ‘100km of walkable footpaths’ across the city, with walks from December 1-15.

The event featured prominent participants, including MLA Harris and DCP Kuldeep, and aimed to highlight Bengaluru’s accessible, well-connected footpaths. Through the “Citizen Rating of Footpaths” initiative, walkers rated the paths they explored, emphasizing the importance of obstacle-free walkways.

Other upcoming Walkfest themes include Aerospace City and Historical Halasuru, encouraging civic awareness, fitness, and heritage exploration. Open to all, these walks feature both physical activity and civic dialogue, with discussions on improving Bengaluru’s infrastructure.
