In a tragic incident in Bengaluru, the live location shared by Lalitha alias Divya with her friend minutes before her murder led to the discovery of her body. The 32-year-old beautician was found buried in a trench in the Hujagal Hill forest area, Magadi, Ramanagara district.

Lalitha was murdered by her estranged husband, Umesh, who worked at a travel agency and had a history of drug addiction. The murder occurred between 4 pm and 11 pm on Monday. Umesh, who had been suspicious of Lalitha’s fidelity and was frustrated by her filing for divorce, convinced her to meet him under the pretense of signing divorce papers. He then lured her to a temple, borrowed a two-wheeler from her friend Uma, and subsequently murdered her.

Lalitha, fearing for her safety, shared her live location with Uma before meeting Umesh. When Umesh returned the two-wheeler to Uma and claimed Lalitha had been dropped off at the bus stand, Uma and her husband Balaraju grew suspicious and reported her missing to the Magadi police.

The police used the live location to trace Lalitha’s body in the forest on Tuesday. Umesh is currently on the run, and authorities have apprehended three of his associates for further investigation. An NDPS case has also been filed against Umesh at the Magadi police station.

Lalitha’s phones were discovered discarded in a lorry with Andhra Pradesh registration. Her brother-in-law, Maruthi, revealed that they learned of the incident after Uma’s call and tried to reach Lalitha, but her phones were already turned off.
