The brutal murder of a 28-year-old woman whose body was discovered near Kalkere Lake, Ramamurthy Nagar, on January 22, has been cracked. Police have arrested 30-year-old Mudukappa alias Upendra alias Dastagir, a tanker driver from Sarayipalya, for the rape and murder.
Mudukappa, who had known the victim for months, allegedly assaulted her while she was returning to her shed alone, strangled her, and smashed her face with a stone to erase evidence.
CCTV footage from the area led police to his hideout in north Karnataka, where he was apprehended.
