A 28-year-old man allegedly died by suicide after reportedly falling into severe debt due to betting activities in Nelamangala taluk of Bengaluru Rural district.

The deceased has been identified as Shivakumar, a native of Singasadanapalli village in Tamil Nadu. He had been residing in Arishinakunte village under the Nelamangala Town police limits for the past six years and was employed at a local car garage.

According to police sources, Shivakumar had allegedly accumulated significant debt linked to betting, which may have pushed him into emotional and financial distress.

Found dead inside rented room

Police suspect that Shivakumar ended his life by hanging himself inside his rented accommodation nearly two days before the body was discovered.

The incident came to light on Monday morning after the house owners noticed unusual silence and no movement from the room for an extended period. On checking, they found Shivakumar dead and alerted the police.

Officials from the Nelamangala Town police station arrived at the spot and shifted the body for post-mortem examination.
