BJP Yuva Morcha state president Dheeraj Muniraju has demanded the resignation of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara following the recent discovery of a synthetic drug manufacturing unit in Mysuru. Addressing the media on Tuesday, Muniraju criticised the state government’s failure to detect the operation, which was instead uncovered by the Mumbai Police’s anti-narcotics cell.

The illegal drug lab was reportedly running behind a car service centre in Mysuru — Siddaramaiah’s home district — raising serious concerns about local law enforcement. “It is deeply shameful that an out-of-state police force had to uncover such a racket while our own administration remained inactive,” Muniraju said.

He accused the state police and intelligence units of negligence, stating that the incident reflects a broader failure of governance. “This isn’t just a policing lapse — it’s a collapse of responsibility at the highest level,” he added.

Muniraju announced that the BJP Yuva Morcha would launch a protest in Mysuru on Wednesday against the district administration and local police, marking the start of a larger statewide campaign. Demonstrations will soon be held across all districts, he said.

Mocking the Congress leadership, Muniraju noted that while the drug supplier hailed from AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge’s home district of Kalaburagi, the factory itself was found in Siddaramaiah’s constituency.

He called for immediate and strict action against any officials or political figures linked to drug trafficking, declaring, “No one should be spared.”
