A bomb threat call to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) headquarters in Bengaluru on Friday prompted an immediate security response, with police later confirming that the alert was a hoax.

According to North Bengaluru Deputy Commissioner of Police Babasab Nemagouda, the threat call was received around the afternoon at the ISRO headquarters, which falls under the jurisdiction of the Sanjay Nagar Police Station.

Police conduct thorough security check

Following the alert, police teams rushed to the ISRO campus and carried out a comprehensive search of the premises. After an extensive inspection, officials found no suspicious objects or explosives.

The DCP said ISRO authorities are in the process of filing a formal complaint, following which police will register a case and begin a detailed investigation to trace the source of the hoax call.

Government remains on high alert

Responding to the incident, Karnataka Home Minister Priyank Kharge said the government remains vigilant despite the increasing number of hoax threats reported across the state.

He noted that similar false alerts have been received at several locations in recent weeks, including an email threat reported in Yadgir.

Kharge assured that law enforcement agencies are closely monitoring such incidents and taking every threat seriously to ensure public safety.

Investigation underway

Police are expected to analyse call records and other technical evidence to identify the person responsible for the false bomb threat. Authorities have reiterated that hoax calls not only create unnecessary panic but also divert valuable police and emergency resources.

Security agencies continue to maintain heightened vigilance at key government and strategic installations across Karnataka as the investigation progresses.
