Bengaluru: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah revealed a significant case of alleged misappropriation within the Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation. Addressing the media, CM Siddaramaiah disclosed that a staggering Rs 187.33 crores have been looted or defrauded by several individuals involved in the scheme.
The matter came to light following the death of P. Chandrasekaran, a key figure linked to the corporation. A death note implicated three individuals in Chandrasekaran’s demise, prompting his wife to file a complaint. Based on her allegations, an FIR was registered.

In response to the gravity of the situation, three major investigative agencies have been engaged in the probe. The Special Investigation Team (SIT), the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) are all actively investigating the case.
“Rs 187.33 crores has been looted or defrauded by many people involved,” said CM Siddaramaiah. “In the death note, it was found that three people were responsible for the death of P. Chandrasekaran. His wife made a complaint and on that basis, an FIR was registered. Three investigating agencies are investigating – SIT, CBI, and ED. The investigation is going on.”
As the investigation unfolds, the state government is determined to bring those responsible to justice and recover the defrauded funds. This high-profile case underscores the ongoing efforts to combat corruption and ensure accountability within public institutions.
