A 32-year-old head constable, Santosh, posted at Chamarajpet police station, was injured on Saturday night while attempting to intervene in a street altercation between two families in Valmikinagar around 9:30 PM. He was reportedly en route to dinner when a resident alerted him to the ongoing brawl.

Upon reaching the scene, Santosh tried to mediate, but was stabbed on the left wrist by one of the accused. Another individual, 53-year-old Mohammed Shafiulla, also suffered injuries during the clash.

Police have arrested four individuals in connection with the incident: Tabrez Pasha (alias Chor Tabrez), his elder brother Abrez, their 17-year-old sibling, and friend Salman Pasha—all residents of Valmikinagar. According to authorities, the fight was rooted in a long-standing personal feud.

Tabrez was previously married to Shafiulla’s daughter but was later divorced due to his alleged criminal background, including theft and mobile snatching. Despite remarrying, he reportedly continued to blame Shafiulla for the separation and held a grudge.

On Saturday, Shafiulla, who lives in Kengeri and owns an incense stick business, was visiting his sister’s residence when Tabrez and his associates attacked him. A witness informed Santosh, who then attempted to stop the assault and was injured in the process.

Despite being wounded, Santosh alerted his colleagues, who rushed to the scene. The accused initially fled but were soon apprehended. Both Santosh and Shafiulla received treatment and are now stable. Cases under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita have been registered.
