The city railway sub-division police have arrested a couple and their friend in connection with the death of a 24-year-old man from Krishnagiri district, Hosur. The man’s body was found on railway tracks between Chikkabanawara and Nelamangala railway stations, initially appearing to be a case of suicide.

The arrested individuals have been identified as V Sathyavani, 27, a flower vendor, her husband S Varadaraj, 23, a construction laborer, both from Krishnagiri, and their friend C Srinivas, 25, from Dasanapura.

The victim, R Loganathan, was found deceased on February 19 near Alurupalya railway tracks. Initial investigations suggested that the circumstances of his death were not consistent with suicide. The Bengaluru Rural Railway police then formed six teams to investigate the case. Further analysis of the crime scene revealed signs of injuries, which led investigators to rule out suicide and consider foul play.

In their search for clues, the police found a missing person report for Loganathan from the Shoolagiri police station in Tamil Nadu. CCTV footage from the Hosur bus stand revealed the victim with a woman, which eventually led to the arrest of the accused.

Investigations revealed that Sathyavani and Loganathan had a prior relationship. Tensions regarding her personal circumstances are believed to have contributed to the unfortunate events.
