Public Response
The video has triggered widespread concern among residents, particularly regarding the safety of non-locals in the area. Many people took to social media to share their experiences of similar harassment on Bengaluru roads. One user commented, “This is a menace in Bangalore. I, too, faced such a situation and had to run with my family lest they do unimaginable things with us. These bike drivers run in gangs and hit cars with decent families, break glass and beat them, rob them and molest ladies.” Another user added, “With so many incidents being reported by citizens, it is high time there is increased patrolling in this stretch.”
The alarming nature of the incident and the frequency of such occurrences prompted the Bengaluru City Police to issue a public advisory, urging residents to call 112 in emergencies. The police quickly responded to the incident, stating on social media, “We have informed the concerned police officers for necessary action.”
Police Action
Later, the Bengaluru City Police provided an update, confirming the arrest of the attacker by officers from the Bellandur police station. “The culprit has been taken to the police station. Waiting for more updates on the case! Thanks for the quick response,” the police stated in their update.
This incident has intensified calls for increased patrolling and security measures on Bengaluru’s roads, especially in areas like Sarjapur Road, which residents describe as increasingly dangerous for both locals and non-locals.
