Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa met his wife Vijayalakshmi and son Vineesh inside Parappana Agrahara Central Prison on Monday after obtaining prior permission from prison authorities.

Darshan is currently lodged in prison in connection with the high-profile Renukaswamy murder case.

Family meeting held under CCTV surveillance

According to reports, the actor spent nearly 30 minutes with his wife and son inside the prison premises.

Officials said the meeting was conducted under CCTV surveillance, and conversations between Darshan and his family members were recorded as part of standard prison security procedures.

The interaction reportedly took place in the presence of prison officials, and authorities permitted only three individuals to attend the meeting.

Darshan named in murder chargesheet

Darshan was named in the chargesheet filed in the Renukaswamy murder case involving the death of a 33-year-old man from Chitradurga.

The victim’s body was discovered in Kamakshipalya on June 9, 2024.

The case drew massive public attention across Karnataka following allegations involving multiple accused persons linked to the actor.

Bail proceedings continue

In October 2024, the Karnataka High Court granted interim bail to Darshan for six weeks in the case.

However, the Government of Karnataka later approached the Supreme Court of India challenging the High Court’s decision to grant bail.

Further legal proceedings in the case are continuing.
