Bengaluru : A district-level job fair held in Devanahalli saw 1,097 candidates receiving direct recruitment letters from 163 companies that participated in the event. Organised by the district administration, district panchayat, district skill mission, and district industrial centre, the fair attracted thousands of job seekers.

District Collector N. Sivashankar, speaking at the event, revealed that 3,500 candidates were shortlisted for further interviews. The event was inaugurated by District In-charge Minister K. H. Muniappa, who reiterated the government’s commitment to building a skilled youth workforce and providing meaningful employment opportunities. He promised that the government would ensure a “household job” for every family within the next year.

Muniappa also highlighted the success of the district’s initiatives to upgrade government schools and colleges through corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds, stressing the importance of education in addressing unemployment challenges. He assured attendees that the government was prepared to tackle these issues head-on.

Dr. K. Sudhakar, MP, expressed the necessity of job guarantees, pointing out that the ₹2,000 provided by the state government as a guarantee was insufficient. He emphasized the need for technical skills training to meet industry demands and highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s allocation of ₹50 lakh crore towards infrastructure development, which will generate significant direct and indirect employment.

The job fair featured numerous technical job openings, while candidates with traditional degrees were offered guidance on acquiring the necessary skills for today’s job market. Companies involved in the event were urged to collaborate in organising special training sessions to help job aspirants meet their requirements.
