Bengaluru: A 30-year-old driver was found dead at his residence in Roopena Agrahara near Bommanahalli, with his family alleging that he had been under severe stress following threats linked to a dispute over a damaged banner.

The deceased has been identified as Shivakumar, a resident of Gulbarga Colony.

Family alleges threats caused severe stress

According to a senior police officer, Shivakumar was found dead at his home on Sunday morning.

Family members told the police that a few days earlier, Shivakumar had allegedly damaged a banner belonging to a man identified as Ayyappa while he was under the influence of alcohol.

They claimed that following the incident, Shivakumar had been receiving threats, which left him under significant emotional stress.

Police begin investigation

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death. They are examining the allegations made by the family and are expected to record statements from those connected to the dispute.
