Two former participants of Bigg Boss Kannada, Rajath Kishan and Vinay Gowda, have been booked by Bengaluru police after sharing videos displaying weapons on social media. The incident took place in the Basaveshwaranagar area, where authorities took swift action following public complaints.

Initially, the duo was issued summons to appear for questioning. However, upon closer examination, officials determined that the machete showcased in the footage was not real but a fibre replica. Due to this finding, they could not be placed under judicial custody, confirmed DCP West Bengaluru. “Necessary actions have been taken,” he assured.

Despite the weapon being fake, the two have been charged under Section 270 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for causing public nuisance, along with relevant clauses of the Arms Act. Officials warn that promoting such content online can mislead the public and lead to legal consequences.

This case highlights the growing concern over social media stunts that create unnecessary panic. Law enforcement officials have urged influencers and celebrities to act responsibly while posting content online.
