A Gurugram-based content creator has captured the attention of social media users after sharing her family’s emotional journey of relocating to Bengaluru and turning a rented apartment into a warm and personalised home.

Karishma Koul, who has over 2.24 lakh followers on Instagram, recently posted a house tour video showcasing her new Bengaluru residence and the challenges that came with moving cities after more than a decade.

A fresh start after 13 years

In the video, Koul revealed that her family decided to leave Gurugram after 13 years and begin a new chapter in Bengaluru.

She explained that the biggest challenge was not moving from an owned house to a rented apartment, but adjusting from a spacious four-bedroom home to a smaller three-bedroom apartment with limited storage.

To make the transition easier, the family donated many of their belongings to their house help and watchman before relocating.

“Whether a house is owned or rented, I think it should bring peace and reflect your personality,” she said.

Making a rented house feel like home

Koul shared that only the drawing room has been fully organised so far, with several boxes still waiting to be unpacked. Despite this, she expressed happiness with how the space has come together.

In the caption accompanying the video, she described her excitement about life in Bengaluru, including exploring new cafés, enjoying the city’s weather, meeting new people and creating fresh memories.

Social media users relate to the journey

The post struck a chord with many viewers who have experienced similar relocations. Several users congratulated Koul on stepping out of her comfort zone and embracing a new beginning.

Many praised her approach to decorating a rented apartment with the same care and affection usually reserved for an owned home, making the story both relatable and inspiring.
