Bengaluru city police have registered a case against unknown individuals for allegedly sharing violent, threatening social media posts in the name of rowdy sheeter and notorious gangster J Nagaraj, alias Wilson Garden Naga.
According to a complaint by constable Anand DS, several Instagram accounts circulated videos portraying Naga as an underworld figure using weapons, movie dialogues, and songs to glorify his criminal persona. These posts allegedly aimed to incite violence and fear, prompting police to act.
The suo motu FIR, filed on July 31 by Siddapura Police after court approval, invokes Sections 351(1) and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) for promoting public disorder and provocation.
Police identified multiple handles—like @ll.nagaraj_official.ll_, @naga_anna_975, and others—posting videos titled “NAGANNA THE KING OF UNDERWORLD GANGSTAR” and similar provocative content. Authorities say this violates public peace and is a serious threat to law and order.
Who is Wilson Garden Naga?
Aged 40, Naga has over 25 criminal cases to his name—ranging from extortion and robbery to murder. Though acquitted in many, he remains in jail on several charges. He made headlines in 2023 after a leaked prison photo with actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, arrested in a murder case, went viral.
Naga also attempted a political entry before the 2023 Karnataka polls, leading to his externment from Bengaluru by city police.
