In a brazen theft, miscreants stole the iPhone 14 Pro Max of a head constable while he was shopping for flowers ahead of the Deepavali festival in Basaveshwaranagar, west Bengaluru. The incident occurred on October 31 around 5:50 PM as Krishnappa NC, 45, was at the market near Pavithra Paradise Junction.

Krishnappa, who works in the office of the assistant commissioner of police in the Vijayanagar subdivision, initially dismissed a bump into him as an accident. However, just five minutes later, he discovered that his phone was missing and suspected it had been stolen during the encounter.

Upon realizing the theft, he attempted to call his phone from a friend’s mobile. The first call rang once before going unanswered, and subsequent attempts revealed that the phone had been switched off. The incident has raised concerns over safety and security in public places during festive seasons.
