Bengaluru: Disruptions at the check-in and baggage drop facilities of IndiGo Airlines have led to significant chaos at Kempegowda International Airport. The issues began around 12:30 PM on Saturday, resulting in extensive delays for passengers. By 1:30 PM, IndiGo reported a “temporary system slowdown” across its network, leading to long queues and mounting frustration among travelers.
Passengers expressed their dissatisfaction on social media, sharing images of the overcrowded airport and criticizing the airline for the delays. Some also reported difficulties booking tickets on IndiGo’s website due to the ongoing technical issues. The timing of the disruption is particularly inconvenient, with many passengers traveling during the festive season.
One frustrated traveler tweeted, “Booked a last-minute flight because I desperately needed to get home ASAP—only for the servers to crash and the flight to be delayed. Now, instead of zooming through the skies, I’m stuck in an airport purgatory where the only thing flying is my patience… out the window. #indigo.”
Others compared the airport chaos to scenes at railway stations, highlighting the severity of the situation. Passengers called for improvements in ground services, urging the airline to enhance its operational efficiency.
In response to the mounting complaints, IndiGo acknowledged the “major technical glitch” affecting its operations. The airline stated that its staff was actively working to assist travelers and restore normal operations as quickly as possible. They expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and appreciated the passengers’ understanding and patience during this challenging time.
