A police inspector in Bengaluru has come under serious allegations after a woman accused him of sending inappropriate and offensive messages, raising questions about professional conduct within the force.
The complainant, Yashaswini Gowda, submitted a formal complaint along with chat records to senior police officials.
Allegations surface through viral chats
The controversy gained attention after alleged conversations between the inspector and Gowda surfaced on social media. The messages reportedly show the officer using an overly familiar tone and making objectionable remarks.
Gowda has accused Papanna of harassment, claiming he sent messages such as “I love you” and made inappropriate comments about her appearance. She also alleged that he frequently called her and questioned her if she did not respond.
Complaint filed with senior officials
Appearing outside the Commissioner’s Office, Gowda alleged that the inspector attempted to establish an inappropriate personal connection despite his official role.
She questioned how an officer who had previously opened a rowdy sheet against her could engage in such conduct and attempt to portray himself as a close acquaintance.
Claims of prior inaction
Gowda further stated that she had attempted to raise the issue earlier but no action was taken. She alleged that her complaints were dismissed in the past, making it difficult for her to pursue justice.
Her legal counsel, Naresh, supported the claims, stating that the inspector used informal and personal language in messages, which raises serious concerns about misuse of authority.
Investigation likely
Officials are expected to examine the submitted evidence, including chat records, to determine the authenticity of the allegations and take appropriate action.
The case has once again highlighted the need for accountability and strict adherence to professional ethics within law enforcement agencies.
