Popular actor Jr NTR was mobbed by a large crowd of fans during his visit to a hospital in Bengaluru on Sunday, leading to chaotic scenes and police intervention.
The actor had travelled to the city on March 8 to inaugurate a new facility at KIMS Super Speciality Hospital, but the event quickly drew massive crowds eager to catch a glimpse of the star.
Massive crowd gathers at hospital
According to reports, hundreds of fans gathered both inside and outside the hospital complex soon after the actor’s arrival. Videos widely circulated on social media showed enthusiastic fans cheering, shouting slogans and pushing toward the entrance in an attempt to see him.
As the crowd swelled, many rushed into the building, causing disorder in the hospital lobby. Reports suggest that an escalator inside the premises was also damaged during the commotion as security personnel struggled to control the situation.
Police step in to control situation
With the crowd becoming increasingly difficult to manage, authorities reportedly restricted access to certain areas of the hospital. Police personnel present at the venue carried out a mild lathi charge to disperse the crowd and restore order.
Despite the chaos, Jr NTR was safely escorted inside the building, allowing the inauguration programme to proceed as planned.
The incident also sparked concerns about crowd management at events held in sensitive locations such as hospitals, where patient safety and calm environments are essential.
Social media reactions and concerns
Videos of the incident quickly went viral online, prompting discussions about fan frenzy and public behaviour during celebrity appearances.
Some social media users questioned the planning and security arrangements for the event, while others pointed out that hospitals require stricter crowd control due to the presence of patients and medical staff.
Actor’s upcoming projects
On the professional front, Jr NTR was last seen in the film War 2, where he starred alongside Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani. The actor is also expected to return to the big screen with the sequel to his film Devara.
