In Bengaluru, Karnataka Lokayukta police apprehended Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Gangadhar on Wednesday after he accepted a bribe of Rs 25,000. The officer allegedly sought Rs 50,000 from Ambarish, a Muthsandra resident, to avoid implicating him in an attempted murder case. Despite Ambarish securing bail, the PSI reportedly threatened further involvement unless the bribe was paid.

The arrest was led by Lokayukta SP Srinath Mahadev Joshi around 6 pm. Lokayukta officials caught Gangadhar in the act, with the cash stored in a police station drawer. He has been charged under the Prevention of Corruption Act, with further investigation ongoing.
